Christmas All Over The Place-Part 8.5

To finally wrap up this Christmas trip around the world, we stay in the South Pacific and head over to Hawaii for a couple of singles. The Alfred Apaka is a new rip of something I shared out back in 2007, but this time I've got two different picture sleeves to show you, as well as a Christmas card from Henry J. Kaiser himself that I found in one of the sleeves. The other record in the download is just as good, hailing from the 49th State Record Company, so you know it's authentic.

1. Alfred Apaka And The Hawaiian Village Serenaders-Winter Wonderland
2. Alfred Apaka And The Hawaiian Village Serenaders-Joy To The World (Hauoli Ka Honua)
3. Alfred Apaka And The Hawaiian Village Serenaders-Mele Kalikimaka-Jingle Bells
4. Alfred Apaka And The Hawaiian Village Serenaders-Silent Night (Po Hama'u')
5. Genoa Keawe's Trio-Mele Kalikimaka (Merry Christmas)

  1. I posted Genoa Keawe's New Year's record a few years ago. The 49th State Record Company is interesting because Hawaii is actually the 50th state. The 49th State name was apparently invented in an excess of Hawaiian postwar optimism about statehood.

    1. I must have read that at your blog because I had some vague memory of it. :)
