Peace Be With You

One good carillon record deserves another, and lucky for you I've got one! This time it's from Canada, a land that's far, far away from where I live, and much closer to the North Pole, so maybe they have more Christmas spirit. I spent a few hours in a Canadian airport on the way to Europe this past August, but I don't think I can really say I've been there. I kept buying small things for cash in hopes of getting a looney and a twoney in change (and I'm happy to say I got at least one of each!). Not sure if this record will remind me of the time I spent in the Toronto airport, but maybe. This is Gordon Slater-Peace Tower Christmas (Tapestry/RCA Limited (Canada) GD 7373, Stereo, 1979).

1. Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer
2. Santa Claus Is Coming To Town
3. Bell Medley
4. The Wassail Song
5. Frosty The Snowman
6. Winter Wonderland
7. The Christmas Song
8. White Christmas
9. Silent Night
10. Joy To The World
11. French Carol Medley
12. Good King Wenceslas
13. The Huron Carol
14. Manger Medley
15. Hark! The Herald Angels Sing
16. O Come, All Ye Faithful

  1. One of my friends now works for a company that sells parts to repair carillons - I showed him your blog and told him you could hook him up for the office Christmas party.

  2. This tower is in Ottawa; never been there, but have been in Canada many times, living only a few hours away.

    1. Canada may as well be a foreign country as far as it is away from me. Oh, wait...
