Look, Up In The Sky

The best reason I have for posting this record, other than it's great selection of Christmas songs, is that if you look real close on the cover, up in the top right hand corner, just above the Decca label, you can see an airplane flying by.  I was real close to airbrushing it out when I was cleaning the cover up until I realized it was actually a shape and not just a blob.  Think of the odds...  Anyhow, here's a nice collection of men at a seminary singing.  Good stuff.  This is Saint John's Seminary Choir-Right Reverend Russell H. Davis, Mus. M., Director And Soloist-The Heavens Declare-Christmas Hymns And Carols (Decca DL 4353 (Brighton, Massachusetts), Mono, 1962).

1. The Heavens Declare
2. Carol Of The Bells
3. Gesu Bambino
4. Sing Gloria
5. Tell Me Shepherds Dear
6. Russian Carol
7. Good News From Heaven
8. Panis Angelicus
9. Silent Night
10. O Holy Night
11. Nowell
12. I Wonder As I Wander
13. What Child Is This
14. Adeste Fideles

The label says that this was "Actually recorded at St. John's Seminary Chapel" as if to assure us it wasn't taken down at the local Dew Drop Inn.

It could be an airplane shaped angel, I suppose. But don't call me Shirley!
