Ring Those Christmas Bells

Tonight's share comes from the sometimes wild, sometimes wacky, sometimes weird, sometimes, well, fairly normal world of religious label Word.  This one covers all the bases quite nicely, I think, with some music that's never less than interesting, featuring organ by Del Roper and handbells by The Mason Swiss Bell Ringers.  You know how I'm a sucker for the handbells, and these are some good ones.  Nice selection of songs, too.  I like it, and I hope you like it, too.  This is Del Roper With The Mason Swiss Bell Ringers-I Heard The Bells (Word W 3067-LP, Mono, 1959).

1. Jingle Bells and White Christmas
2. Hark! The Herald Angels Sing
3. Carol Of The Bells
4. We Three Kings
5. Gesu, Bambino
6. Joy To The World
7. I Heard The Bells On Christmas Day
8. O Holy Night (Cantique De Noel)
9. The First Noel
10. Silent Night
11. O Little Town Of Bethlehem
12. O Come, All ye Faithful (Adeste Fidelis)

  2. "Swiss" bell ringers always drives me crazy. P.T. Barnum imported a group of English (yes, English) handbell ringers, decided that they weren't exotic enough, and put them in Swiss costume. The medium is called English handbell ringing.
