Advent 1

Today is the first of December, and that's the traditional day to begin an Advent calendar. Lucky for you, I've happened across a couple recorded calendars, and I'm happy to share them with you. This first one appears to be a promo sent to radio stations back in 1976. The station would play each recording on their respective day, culminating on the Christmas story itself on the big day. I recommend you do something similar when you listen to it, because listening to them all in a row is pretty boring since they all use the similar theme music. They are nice and short though. This is Derric Johnson's The Re'Generation-Christmas Is... (Impact CI-1176, Stereo, 1976). Enjoy!

  1. Hi Ernie, I really enjoyed the story parts of each day. I listened to 12 one day and the next day 13. I should have maybe listened to only 5 at a time.
    1. That beginning really gets to you, even after a couple of hearings.
    2. Ditto, to the endings.
    3. Too bad they did not offer a version of all the story parts woven together somehow. With only one beginning and one ending.
But that would defeat the original idea of this recording.
So, i am glad you posted it, and I heard it the one time, but I think it would be hard to listen to it a second time.
Oh, I listened to it on my mp3 player. I started to skip the endings, but those awful beginnings.

    1. Yeah, it's designed to be played once a day, so the intro and outro make sense in the context of setting the stage each time. Hard to listen to all in a row.
