America's Kids

Another one from the vaults, first shared here in 2012, and this time in full bitrate just for kicks.  I also changed the title slightly to America's instead of American, but now I see why I didn't do that before.  As with so many old records on certain labels, the vinyl doesn't quite match the sleeve. I must not have wanted to use the Xmas from the sleeve, so I went with Christmas from the label.  Now I have it kind of half and half.  Sorry.  Don't be put off by the horrible cover, the singing ain't half bad.  And I visited the Brooklyn Museum last summer for a huge David Bowie exhibit, so that's my little story.  If you missed it all the other time, or if you just the higher bitrate, this is America's Children Sing Christmas Carols (Westminster WP 6025, Mono, 1956).  Artists include Brooklyn Museum Children's Chorus-Conducted By John Motley, Jan Hus Children's Choir-Conducted By Elyse Blodgett, Queen's Children's Chorus-Conducted By Carl Koop, Junior Choir Of The Second Spanish Evangelical Church Of New York-Conducted By Barbara Horan And Stanley Morgan and La Chorale Du Lycée Francais De New York-Conducted By Sylvia Durieux.

  1. I remember the freckled faces of those unattractive kids. Some things stick with you.
