Stereophonic Christmas

Here's a record you don't see every day, or at least I don't see it every day. Maybe it's a regional thing, but this is the only copy I've ever seen. It's part of Kapp's Medallion series, meant o show off all the great things about Stereo. They were well-recorded, well-engineered and unfortunately, higher-priced. Perhaps that explains the rarity part. As far as I know, this was the only Christmas entry in the series, but I could easily be proven wrong on that. I first shared this out back in 2007, and I'm bringing it back for you today. Please download The Medallion Orchestra And Chorus, Directed By John Paul Krance-The Sound Of Christmas-Deck The Halls (Medallion (Kapp) MS-7512, Stereo, 1960).

1. Joy To The World-Deck The Halls-The Wassial Song
2. Carol Of The Bells-The Little Drummer Boy
3. The Christmas Song
4. Hark The Herald Angels Sing-Away In A Manger-It Came Upon The Midnight Clear
5. White Christmas
6. Oh, Little Town Of Bethlehem-The First Noel
7. Oh, Tannenbaum-Angels We Have Heard On High
8. Silent Night
9. Jingle Bells-Winter Wonderland
10. We Three Kings Of Orient Are-God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen
11. What Child Is This?-The Coventry Carol
12. Adeste Fideles

  1. Thanks Ernie. I love that LP cover with the Gurley choir boys. I grew up with a set just like those on top of our TV every year. Then they eventually made it to the top of our fake Sears electric fireplace we had for about 5 years until my Dad built in a real fireplace.

  2. I have (or had) this LP....

I didn't put it up, because you had. It was Ernie-preempted.

Just made up that phrase. Feel free to use it.

  3. Don't let my sharing it stop you, Lee. Heaven knows I have shared out more than my fair share of stuff you've already posted. You'll probably do a better job than I do, anyway. :)
