FaLaLaLaLa News Update

I know that some of you folks who come by the blog here are also fans of FaLaLaLaLa. Well, in case you haven't noticed, that site is down. Story I heard is that he's become too popular, and his ISP booted him. He's found a new host for the website and is in the process of moving things, but it might still be a little while before he gets things up and running. Unfortunately, you can't put Christmas on hold, so The King is up against a pretty solid deadline. I'll let you know more as soon as I hear something. Maintaining a site like that is a real labor of love, but sometimes love stinks.

  1. This really stinks. Who'd guess he'd get penalized for popularity?

My best to The King, I hope we see you soon.

  2. Thanks for the update Ernie. Those are "good problems to have." I hope the King gets back in business soon. His site had been running slowly for some time this year.

  3. Yeah, the slow had something to do with an earlier outage and some add-ons. Maybe the new host will be able to make everything work, but this is not the best time to be having to worry about such things. Looks like all the data is still good and can be ported over to the new server, so nothing is going to be lost in the transition, knock on wood.

  4. Wow what a time for this to happen! Thanks for letting us know. I can't believe his host server couldn't handle the traffic. That's pretty bad. Sorry King, I hope the move to the new host goes smoothly.

  5. The King corrects me slightly. His old host didn't kick him out, they just made some changes that unfortunately don't allow the site to run properly. Those changes were, of course, in the best interest of all the people sharing the server hosting his site, but they don't let FaLaLaLaLa run the way everyone wants. So it's being moved with the full co-operation of everyone involved. Stay tuned...

  6. Thanks Ernie. I was wondering what had happened. I was afraid maybe he had gotten hacke dor something. It is pretty bad timing isn't it?

  8. Merry Christmas to
you, Ernie! I'm sorry you are under the weather. The pace you've been sharing all these Yuletide goodies out, that would run anybody down. You've been spoiling us all rotten, kind Sir,and now it's time to lay back and take care of yourself for awhile.
Just one example of your generous labour was the (2!) Mike Douglas posts. Thank you Ernie! There went a very sincere man, knew the real meaning of the Season, and as you said, could really sing.
Remember to take it easy my friend. You already filled our musical stockings to the point of overflowing.
