A Whole Heap Of French Girls

I probably should have shared this out a couple of weeks ago when I posted some other French stuff, but I forgot about it. It's not that memorable, unfortunately. I had such high hopes. Beautiful cover, great concept, muddy execution. But you be the judge. Download and give a listen to Les Djinnes Singers-60 French Girls With The Christmas Bell Ringers-Joyeaux Noel (ABC Paramount ABCS 397, 1961). Maybe you'll like it more than I did. Not all of the tracks are sung by French girls though, some of them are by some group called The Christmas Bell Ringers. I guess they didn't have enough tracks for a full LP. Shame...

  1. Glancing at the cover, I first read it as, "Go French Girls," which seemed...intriguing, to say the least.

    Thanks for this, Ernie!

  5. Ok, at the risk of being the dorkiest post on here, I can't thank you enough for uploading this record. I am sitting in my home with a tear in my eye. I listened to this every Christmas morning with my family while growing up and it preserves some memory of the smells and moments we had.

    Thank you (Merci),
    John

  6. I too have many happy memories of listening to this album every Chirstmas as a child. I was so excited to find this here that I was just shaking. Can't thank you enough for posting this and bringing back such happy feelings. Do you know anything about the other album? I remember we had two.

  8. Hey Ernie
Why can't I download Les Djinns singers Joyeux Noel? Do I have to buy something? It keeps timing out. I too remeber this from childhood and have been looking all over for it to give to my sister for Christmas.

  9. Sometimes RapidShare has issues. All I can say is try it again. You shol dbe able to download it for free, but they limit how much you can download before you have to wait a day or so. Just be patient.

  11. Hi. My mom was a high school french teacher in the early 1960s. she introduced this album to my sisters and i when were just children. it became our standard christmas album for sing-along, as Mother simply adored the Sixty French Girls Christmas album. Now mother is gone; but our memory of her singing along lives on. Can i somehow download the album. Thank you so very much. Happy Holidays from North Carolina.
