So Many Records, So Little Time
Well, I just found a pile of 10 or 15 records that I've been searching for in the archives since mid-November. I knew I had them, but I couldn't find them. (Surely that's a sign that I have too much stuff, but I'm going to ignore it for now. I had boxed them up in the other room when the Neilsen TV people came out, and forgot I'd done it.) Anyway, I don't have time to get them shared out between now and Christmas, so I wanted to float an idea past you. What if I kept sharing these LPs out past Christmas, say once a week, until I get tired of it? Would you keep coming around? Will you forget all about Christmas on Boxing Day and not think of it again until Wal-Mart puts out the Christmas trees next August? Leave me a note and tell me what you think. There's no way I can keep up the two-a-day pace, but maybe one a week is sustainable for the near future. Thanks for your input!
I, for one, am perfectly potty about Christmas and this music in particular. Y'know, Ernie, I get to listening to these great old tunes, and I cannot -- CANNOT -- bring myself to listen to the crud they broadcast on the radio.
ReplyDeleteI will be downloading my little heart out. Bless you!
i'll be around. i'm especially looking for space-age stuff.
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff you have shared so far.
ReplyDeleteI'd love for you to keep it up
in the New Year.
Ernie,
ReplyDeleteDo you seriously suppose that anyone of your blogmates is going to play grinch to your gracious offer? C'mon now. I'd love to look forward to Christmas music all year long.
With the hectic Christmas schedule my wife hates it when I spend too much time in December compiling my Christmas mix so this year I started in the Summer. It worked out great. I was hardlly yelled at =)It is not any huge production it just with young kids it seems I only have a half hour here and there to work on it.
ReplyDeleteAll that to say - I'll be watching your blog here until you give it up for the season.
I'll still be around after Christmas, maybe not every day, but I could check in on you one or two times a week to see what gems you have in those re-discovered boxes.
ReplyDeleteespecially while I still have time left on the premium Rapidshare pass I had to get to enjoy nall the downloads everybody has had recently.
After Christmas I shift back into my "casual gathering of Halloween Music" mode, though, so if you have any monster stuff, let's have that, too.
Please do, please do!
ReplyDeleteErnie: Personally, between you and the King of Jingle, I have been able to build up my Christmas collection. I appreciate all of the old stuff. If you have the time and desire to keep uploading, I will keep coming. I was thrilled to come across your blog
ReplyDeleteErnie,
ReplyDeleteI too will be around...hell, i'd still be there at Easter ! Love the stuff you put up - there's nothing like the old Christmas albums to bring back memories of my parents trimming the tree. As much as today's albums are slick and kind of cold, the old albums are full of sincere charm. Keep at it, and thank you for sharing your wonderful collection. It is much appreciated.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year !
We could use a little Christmas right this very moment (or weekly)!
ReplyDeleteKeep the yuletide rolling in!
