Another Christmas In Tijuana

I think it's been years since I've brought you any new Tijuana Christmas music, mostly because it's hard to find, and it's all available at your local online music retailer. However, I found this one recently, and it's something I think I can share, at least until someone points out otherwise.Sometimes these things come out under different names, both artist and album, so who knows if this one is out there or not already.  But for tonight, I'm taking it and running with it.  The album jacket may be beat up and split, but the music sounds nice.  So be my guest and download The Toreador Brass-Tijuana Christmas (Harmony (Columbia) HS 11352, Stereo, 1969).

1. Hark! The Herald Angels Sing
2. O Little Town Of Bethlehem
3. While Shepherds Watched
4. Good King Wenceslas
5. Away In A Manger
6. Silent Night
7. God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen
8. Once In Royal David's City
9. O Come All Ye Faithful
10. The Holly And The Ivy
11. Christians Awake
12. The First Noel

  1. This is a great one! I was listening to some of the songs and suddenly had a flashback to the original "Dating Game"...

Good King Wenceslas sounds like that theme song!

Thanks for the trip down memory lane, Ernie.

  2. Aren't most albums on the Harmony label cheaper re-issues of something else? Be inetersting to find the original issue to see if it has different artwork!

  4. Is this album the same as the one here, and the others mentioned in one of the comments?

  5. I don't think so, but I could be wrong. I didn't do any A-B comparisons. Are the tracklists the same? I didn't even check...

  6. Hey Ernie thanks for this.
I've given it a listen and I'm no expert, but think it is the same as KPM 1052 Christmas Party by Alan Moorehouse - who is credited on yours as arranger.
The King of Jingaling used one of these tracks on his 2010 ADVENTure in Carols - -but here's where the confusion lies the tracks all have different titles - for instance The King used Festive Noel, whereas the Toreador Brass has The First Noel. Similarly I think O Little Town Of Bethlehem here is the same as Ode to Bethlehem on KPM 1052.
No matter what - it's great Tijuana. Thanks
