Back To Duophonic!

I just spotted this on an old Facebook post of mine and figured some of you may get a kick out of it here.  Seemed a little odd to me that a classic of mono recording would get advertised as now being in stereo.  Not sure if it's fake stereo or somebody went back and monkeyed with Phil's master tapes.  I know they've been adding echo to these classics for years, but I think there are good, original versions available out there now for your listening pleasure.  More music to come this year from people currently in jail for fairly heinous crimes...fair warning!

  3. I got burned by that Spector re-release decades ago in a 99 cent bin. It's better than nothing if you don't have them in mono, but barely.

  4. This release is in real Stereo albeit in the Old School twin track way. The vocals are on one side and the music on the other with a little bit of sound bleeding on each side. The Stereo is ultra wide but it does take some getting used to. For Mono I enjoy the 1987 Rhino CD and for Stereo the UK pressing from the late 70's early 80's on the Phil Spector International label.

  5. The secret giveaway is "Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" in which Santa clearly walks across the room to Mommy for a smooch, then walks back out of the room. The stereo does nothing to diminish the finest rock'n'roll Christmas album ever made!
