Modern Sound #1

Here's another rerun of Christmas classics on the Modern label, a budget group that I can't say very many good things about. But you know, me, I'm a bottom feeder, and I like to bring you the vinyl-obscura when I can. If you enjoy music made by Nashville session musicians who are in too much of a hurry for their own good, then please download The Music City Choral And Orchestra With Lead Vocals By Troy Green-White Christmas And Other Holiday Favorites (Modern Sound Christmas Album #4). Having said all that, there are actually some songs on here that are worth hearing more than once, though probably not more than three times.

1. The Christmas Song
2. Frosty The Snowman
3. White Christmas
4. Silver Bells
5. I'll Be Home For Christmas
6. Jingle Bell Rock
7. I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus
8. Rudolph The Red Nose (sic) Reindeer
9. Here Comes Santa Claus
10. All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth

As you may know, Modern Sound was also responsible for the 45 rpm labels Hit Records, Country and Western Hits, and Holiday.

I have at least one pre-Modern-Sound LP on the Hit LP itself.

I can't decide whether they were as, more, or less chintzy than Hit Parader Records, Song Hits Records, and Prom. These are the issues that keep me awake at night.

Thanks for the wonderfully tacky Modern Sound sounds.

I mean, Hit label itself.

Just think of all the useful info our brains could store if we weren't filling it up with such data....
