Yingle All The Way

Back before Weird Al made it to the top of the charts, there was humor on vinyl. Hard to believe, but true. And here's the record to prove it. This was quite the popular share last year, and I'm sure it will be again this year. For all the folks who thought the accents in Fargo were just hilarious, here is Yogi Yorgesson With Johnny Duffy And The Scandahoovians-Yingle Bells (Capitol 7" 45 rpm EAP 1-461, 1951).

  1. Yogi Yorgessen...

One of my all time favorite Dr Demento Christmas funny five artists.

Thanks for the album cover. Until now I always imagined him looking like Wally Walrus.

  2. Very surprised to hear another version of this. Orion Samuelson & The Uff-Da Band does "Yingle Bells" and "I Yust Go Nuts At Christmas"
Must've been a popular(?) way of singing these!

  3. Thank you for sharing this music! My companion, of Swedish descent, heard these songs by Yogi Yorgessen on the local Swedish radio station in Jamestown, NY, while a young boy. He was extremely excited to hear them again, and we are going to suprise his mother and family with them, on Christmas day! What a tragic ending there was in store, in 1956, for the hard-working Yogi! His comic, joyful, genius lives on, though, and has brought some extra Christmas cheer into our home this year! I thank you for sharing the music!
