CiA 2025-Day 01

No, I'm not starting over. If you've been around for Christmas in July a while now, you'll likely recall that I try to share out a batch of Chanukah tracks for you on the first day of August each year, so the title above stands for Chanukah in August. And I was lucky enough to find three tracks for you this year. Not sure if there's a real highlight among the songs for today, I was just happy to have more than one song in the Chanukah bucket this year. Just take 'em for what they're worth and be glad I found something. Enjoy!

1. Mike Green, Catherine Slonecki, April Inyard, Scott Jasnow And Kelly Kaneblet-Dreydl Song-Israel (Holiday Songs Around The World, 1994)
2. Clear Springs Chorus, Directed By Miss Shari Steffen, Accompanist: Mrs. Patricia Paul-Shalom (Clear Springs Chorus Sings)
3. Cincinnati Children's Choir-O Chanukah (World Of Music-Sample Recording K-8, 1988)

  1. You have an amazing ability to find Chanukah songs. I don't think I've even seen even one.

  2. Ernie, Thanks once again for allowing us all to escape for a time from the July heat into the wonderful world of holiday music. I look forward to every one of your posts. I hope everyone enjoys the rest of their summer!

    1. Thanks for the note. I have a couple more things I want to share, but time it getting away from me. Too busy for my own good.

  3. Ernie, I'll ditto Big K on how this year's 30-odd posts of seasonal content have offered happy respite from the weather-related heat that we're all sharing. High-magnitude and multiple THANK YOUs for your impressively wonderful additions to our music libraries. Finding, curating, digitizing, and tweaking each one for optimal listening is an ongoing series of great technical achievements. My personal archives warehouse contributions from you that date back 20 years, and my annual mixes have regularly featured your efforts. One more time, thank you, sir!

    1. It's an obsession, what can I say? :) Have you shared these mixes with me? I feel like you have, but my memory is fuzzy. I love hear what people do with the stuff I share. Sometimes I see collections that are entirely made up of stuff I shared, and that's OK because I share a lot!

    1. Thanks for thinking of me, but I specialize in old crusty forgotten music from vinyl. You need to get hold of Stubby, he's your guy for new music.

  8. Hi Ernie,
I just got my Christmas cards this year and would like to send one to you in the next day or two. Could you please post your address for this year? As to what is going on over in the USA, I hope it will arrive before Christmas of this year.

  9. Thanks Ernie for this information.
My flat is 95% set up for Christmas now. It would be 180%, hehee, I have loads of Christmas packed away in boxes in the celler that I am not using.
So, now I will continue listening to where I left off in January of this year with your collections, 31-Space Age Santa Claus.
I cannot wait to see what you have to offer this year.
    Again thanks.

    1. You have a lot of catching up to do! Nothing good to share this year, but there is a lot of it.

    2. I hope there is at least a new story or two. Maybe even an old share that you can re-activate. Thanks.

    3. Oh, don't get me wrong, I have a lot of shares, but I don't know how much of it is worth listening to. I enjoy listening to the whole pile, but I don't know if there are any classic recordings.

    4. Not really Ernie. Since August of this year I now travel from Berlin to Copenhagen bi-weekly Wednesday/Thursday for one of my clients. Beginning in January of 2026, it will be only occasionally. So, I have a lot of time to spend during these travels listening to music, stories, and doing computer work.
I mentioned before I am a personnal asssistant to many people. This year I only organized 2 Halloween parties and will only do 3 Christmas parties. The other 7-8 Chritmas parties I will do their final finessing. Last year was just to much for me, besides this is not the major part of my work as a personnal assistant.
Oh, within a week, I will be caught up on your shares. Then I have a external harddrive folder from before Covid 19 that contains Christmas albums, from else where, to listen too. So, I have enough to last me until your new sharing.

    5. I believe the shares start a week from today. Sounds like you're going to be behind again very soon.
