CiJ 2025-Day 8

That's it, the first week is over and done with, there's no turning back now. Hope you're all enjoying the Christmas music at this hottest time of the year. I have a question for you today about one of the tracks. The soundtrack cut from a movie I've never seen is by Bill Conti and it reminds me of something else. It sounds like the theme music to an 80's TV show that I can't quite place. I thought for a while it was Dallas, but I don't think that's it now. Something similar though, like Dynasty or it's ilk. Can anyone place it? Happy listening!

1. Bill Conti-Ice Skating (An Unmarried Woman, 1978)
2. Niles Township High School East-Girls Glee-Richard Rusch, Director-Take Me For A Sleigh Ride (Winter Music Festival, 1967)
3. Bette Stalnecker With The Keyboard Artistry Of John Bos And The Bob Cline Singers-Go Tell It On The Mountain (Christmas/Spirit)
4. Boardman & Andress-The Marvelous Toy (The Music Book K-8, 1983)
5. Choir Of St. Andrew's Collegiate Church, Steyning, West Sussex, Music Director: Neil A. Page, Soloist: Nigel Newman-A Spotless Rose (I Was Glad, 1985)
6. Jenson Publications-March Of The Madcap Marionettes (Sound Ideas For Concert Band Vol V, 1979)
7. Hal Leonard Concert Band-A Christmas Spiritual (Hal Leonard Concert Band 1990 Easy Edition, 1990)

  2. "Ice Skating" is a nice number. It doesn't sound like anything else to me, but then, I'm no expert on 80s television!

    1. I liked it, but I just can't shake the feeling that it's very similar to something else. Hopefully someone can point me towards the music I'm thinking of.
