19-Santa's Discotheque

So what's this share all about? Take a look at the tracklist and I think you'll figure it out pretty quick. Polka, waltz, cha-cha, mambo, disco, hustle, boogie, even some square dancing, twisting and a hootenanny or two. That's right, it's all about dancing your way into the season no matter what your favorite moves might be. This one is a wild ride between styles but I think it's a very successful collection of stuff. There are plenty of other songs for dancing spread out over all the shares this season, so if you feel like getting down after this collection has played, you wouldn't have to work too hard to put together a part two. In fact, I hope you do. But first, enjoy this one!

  1. I love this stuff!

I'm surprised you don't have something called "Dear Santa (Bring Me A Man Who Does the Mambo This Christmas) Part 1 Cha Cha Cha"

  2. Great playlist! I unearthed the Hugo Winterhalter Christmas Song Cha Cha on YouTube a few weeks before you posted this; like it a lot better than the flip "Rudolph Cha Cha". The Wayne Newton cuts is a guilty pleasure of mine, and the Paul and Paula selection is one of my favorites from their Christmas album; the next year, it would have been changed to "the Beatles are the thing", being that Holiday Hootenanny was released in 1963. And the "Other" Christmas Waltz is one of my favorites from Welk's Jingle Bells album; the label pictured are probably my two favorite cuts from that album.

  3. Also the Pearl Bailey Jingle Bells Cha Cha is becoming a new favorite of mine: I heard it over the Thanksgiving holiday on Sirus XM Holiday Traditions; this cut also serves as a Christmas in July selection; I found out that Synthetic Plastics Co. (SPC) included the song on their Guest Star album of Pearl's Roulette material, Around the World with Me. Great stuff!
