Record Clubs, Part II

Next up in our collection of records from record clubs is courtesy of the Columbia Record Club, later known as Columbia House. I found this record rather late in the season and had no idea I even had it. It was filed away with a bunch of other records featuring collections of the Alfred Burt carols and I suspect I assumed it was a reissue of one of the others. But it's not, and that means I've got a great collection of those carols that were all the rage for a while to share with you here today. I won't bore you with the details, but here's another great collection of tunes you had to join a club to be able to listen to. This is The A Cappella Choir Of Columbia Musical Treasuries-The Compleat Alfred Burt Christmas Carols (Columbia Musical Treasuries/Columbia House DS 551, Stereo). Enjoy! If you're enjoying this sort of thing, there's an older chorale album in the archives that may interest you by John McCarthy and I believe it was also a record club release.
