Eartha Baby

I know it's getting late, but I just found this yesterday, and I'm trying to figure out what Eartha is holding in her right hand.  Is it a pearl necklace?  That's all I could figure after staring at the original for a while, then scanning it and blowing it up really big.  This is the original picture sleeve for the 1953 78 RPM release of Eartha Kitt-Santa Baby.  Yes, some 78s had picture sleeves, they just don't seem to have been saved for some reason.  I'd never seen a 78 version, though I saw a 45 version once but couldn't afford what they were asking.  I got this one for $1, and it came with the right record!

Must be some sort of jewelry. Cool find!

I think it's a pearl necklace, all right - the printer did a lousy opaquing job around it.

Never seen this one before - cool!

Most of the 78 picture sleeves in my collection are for Christmas records. I think it's because they tended to be laminated, which made them much more durable.

Looks like a home pregnancy test to me. So now we know what it was Eartha had over Santa to command such a gift list.

No problem--we still have three days of Christmas left, counting today (Wednesday).

I can't wait to re-open presents on the 12th Day. And re-greet Santa.
