Mysterious Mickey

This is the roof of a building near the Contemporary Resort at Walt Disney World. I shot through the window of a moving monorail hoping that I would be able to capture an image of what I saw. This odd Mickey Mouse cutout was perched on the side of the building facing a parking lot. That alone was cool enough, but I happened to pass overhead at the exact correct time to catch the shadow on the opposite wall of the building, making two Mickey's for the price of one.

  1. Hi Ernie,

I just wanted to say thank you for your blog. Your photos are great and I especially love all of the holiday music. To show my appreciation, I've sent you the "Honest Scrap" blog award. You can see my post about it on my blog here.

  3. Holy Crap, that's cool, Ernie! We live and Orlando and have AP's....probably ridden the Monorail about 8 bazillion times in the last 3 years (conservatively) and I've NEVER noticed that Mickey!

    Thanks for the blog!

  4. Have you seen him recently? If memory serves, that's right as you go into the Contemporary Resort heading North. The sun was setting, so that means it was on the right side of the monorail. Good luck! I have to assume he's still there, but you never know. Pretty sure that was before they did all those additions to the Contemporary, so there's a very real possibility he's no longer there.
