Little Christmas On The Prairie
So many records to share this year, I don't know how I'll fit them all in. But I'm giving it the old college try. This time it's a neat album that touts it's midwest roots, which I love. Who wouldn't enjoy a Christmas on the prairie? Certainly these folks enjoy it and so will you. This is Prairie Choristers-Christmas On The Prairie (Crusade Enterprises SPC...1012, Stereo). If you enjoy this record, stay tuned, I've got some Christmas goodies from some people who once liked in a little house out on the prairie, if you get my drift...

Ernie, this reminds me of my days in the Choirs from grades 3+ to 12. So often, we sang without any instrumentation. Our voices were the instuments.
ReplyDeleteYeah, we did the same thing in elementary school (K-6). By then I'd had enough of it and never did it again.
DeleteI understand. I have always loved to sing, was fortunate to be blessed to be a soloist, but by the time I finished 12th grade, moved onto College and than University, I had a whole knew life before me. Besides, after coming out, being disowned by what family I had left, I just needed new surroundings and left behind some of the old and embraced some of the new. But that is life and this is how we grow, for better or worse.
ReplyDeleteThis group is from Roanoke, Illinois, outside of Peoria. I wouldn't consider that a prairie, but who am I to tell them what to call where they live.
ReplyDeleteIt's their album, they get to call it what they want, I guess. :)
DeleteIf you dug up a Christmas album from Nellie Oleson, I'm going to be really impressed.
