Bock Bock
I was a little surprised to find out that the artist behind this record is the same as that last one. Sure, he hides behind a few pseudonyms, but he's not too hidden. I believe each of the made-up artists on this record also released a full-length LP of music appropriate to whatever instrument they're hyping with the name, but none of those are Christmas albums. Only this pseudo-various artists record is of the holiday variety. And it's an interesting mix of stuff. Give it a listen and see what you think. From the mixed-up world of Fred Bock, this is The Sunday Series-A Tribute To Christmas (Image VII VII-7739, Stereo, 1976).

You're probably correct, Ernie. I believe the Sunday Series had something to do with the father of Connie Scott (was a well known CCM Christian Contemporary Music artist), Gerry Scott. I believe he was President of both Word Records Canada, and Image VII.
ReplyDeleteThere's clearly a connection between Word and Image VII, just look at the label above compared to a Word label from the same period. I didn't know what that connection was, but I think you've nailed it. Thanks!
DeleteAn album for almost everyone.
ReplyDeleteJust about! :)
DeleteWell, this is a byway of the record world of which I knew nothing, so thanks Ernie and all for the information!
ReplyDeleteYou gotta hunt for records all day every day, and even then you still don't know as much as you'd like.
DeleteI also like to imagine that Fred Bock has musical instruments for every day of the week. You should hear those Tuesday Accordions.
ReplyDeleteFred Bock must have a very, very large studio...
