Christmas In July 2022-Part 11
Snake eyes! Part eleven of this month's Christmas in July celebration sees another good batch of Christmas songs from non-Christmas albums, and our usual batch of seasonal production goodies, also from non-holiday production albums. Enjoy!
1. Shepherds And Lasses by The Choir Of The First Presbyterian Church Of Dearborn, Alexander J. Turco-Organist And Director from Carols And Anthems (No Label H-1496/1497, Mono, 1967). This is a really good song.
2. Christmas Night by Armando Trovajoli from the soundtrack LP Yesterday, Today And Tomorrow (Warner Bros W 1552, Mono, 1964). Always cool to find a Christmas song on a movie soundtrack. Kinda makes me want to seek out the movie in question, but I never do. I'm lazy.
3. Moonlight In Vermont by Eddie Baxter from Speak Low-The Unique Artistry Of Eddie Baxter (Rendezvous RLP 1301, Mono, 1957). This happens to be what's playing as I type.
4. Jingle Bells by The Calvin Handbell Ringers-Robert Ivey, Director from Joyful Bells (Omnisound N-1014 (from The First Presbyterian Church, Red Bank, New Jersey), Stereo, 1977). You haven't gotten enough handbells this season, and I apologize for that. The albums are hard to find.
5. Sleigh Ride by The Don Baker Trio from the album Cocktail Hammond (Capitol ST1099, Stereo, 1958). Classic cocktail music!
And now for a batch of production music to finish out the share...
6. Sweet Dreams from Trendsetter Volume A Disc 13 (William B. Tanner Company TRS V-A Disc 13, Stereo).
7. Christmas Caring B from Trendsetter Volume A Disc 6 (William B. Tanner Company TRS Vol A Disc 6, Stereo).
8. Orchestrated Pattern (Christmas) (Angels We Have Heard On High) from Trendsetter Volume A Disc 31-Wild Work Parts (Media General TRS V-A/D-31, Stereo).
9. Pre Season Sale-Tag from New TTS Production Music Tracks #3317 (William B. Tanner Company 3317, Stereo).
10. We're The Center Of Everything This Christmas-Vocal from The Great Christmas And Special Events Production Library-Disc 7 (Airforce Broadcast Services Disc 7, Stereo, 1984).
And that's the goodies for today. Hope you enjoyed something in there!
Was Eddie Baxter an organist? I suspect as much. That Trovajoli cut sounds nice!
ReplyDeleteYes, he played the organ, but seemed to disappear before stereo became popular. Everything I've seen from him is early fifties.

ReplyDelete"Shepherds and Lasses" was quite nicely recorded. Was that done in their church? The acoustics sound better than most churches.
