July The Third
Another year in the making, this is a collection of the very best track from my 2007 celebration of Christmas in July. Further reflection tells me that I made a mistake in my post about the 2006 collection, so I'll straighten out the record now. I had put together the tracks, but my friend CaptOT made the cover. And moving forward through time, I kept selecting my favorite tracks, and I started throwing together a cover as well. Sometimes they were fitting, sometime they were just something I could bash together in a hurry. I like this cover, since it's actually spines from some of the records that I had featured during the month. Not sure if it's spines for songs that actually made the best of or not though. Anyhow, here's the tracklist, and you can always follow the link back to the day I first shared it. Sometimes there's more info there, sometimes there is not. There's always Discogs if you want to find the original cover. Discogs didn't exist back when I started this series, or at least not in the form it is today. It's a great resource, I encourage you to use it. But that's beside the point, here's some great Christmas music!

ReplyDeleteThanks, buddy - I had no idea that IBM mainframes performed Christmas carols.
ReplyDeleteI see the recording of "Christmas Day" is included here. Coincidentally, I just pulled out the "Promises, Promises" cast album and an associated radio promo disc and will be transferring them when I get the energy.
Merry Christmas all! Welcome!
ReplyDeleteI'll be looking forward to that, Buster. I'm still finding Broadway shows & cast albums that feature Christmas music. There's so much out there.
