No Snow In July

Hello, and welcome to Christmas in July 2013!  Err, actually, welcome to No Christmas in July 2013.  Yes, it's sad but true, I won't be sharing any Christmas gems with you all this year.  No one is a bigger fan of Christmas music than I am, but some things are just more important, and her name is Jennifer.  Yes, that's right, I finally met that special someone that I've been looking for for a long time now, and she's great.  So my spare time has been spent working on building a relationship that I hope will span many, many years to come.  I'm certainly not going to rule out a future return to Christmas music sharing, and believe me, I still have piles and piles of music that I'd love to bring you, but for now it's on the back burner.  Maybe I'll have some goodies come the real holidays at the end of the year, but for now, all I can do is wish you a Merry Christmas in July!

Ernie, you've deserved a July off for many years. Spend every waking moment with Jennifer.

You got to squeeze her, don't tease her, never leave her. You got to hold her, and brother, something else - try a little tenderness!

And a beautiful early Christmas present at that.

Thanks for all the musical presents you gave us in the past.

Don't let her take all your time...without you it just won't be Christmas.

Off topic but just curious, has anyone ever pointed out that Christmas in July in Australia (and all southern hemisphere lands) is actually seasonally appropriate? So yes, there actually is snow in July ... down under!

Good for you and Jennifer. As a happily married man, i can tell you nothing will bring you more joy than a true love. It's even better than Christmas music and THAT is saying something.
All the best to you both. I will miss your posts, hope to see them resume sometime, but I understand and send you my support.

Allowing real life to get in the way of blogging?? Shocking!

Congratulations! And, um, stay "real." I have no idea what that means, but I just wanted to give some hip-sounding advice.

Best to both of you!

Hey Ernie,

CONGRATS top you both !!! I'm very happy for you and to be honest, I'm still not thru listening (even unzipping) several years worth of files you've already shared, so you needn't give another moment's thought to us obsessed kindred spirits. We'll get by with all the great music you have brought to us in past years editions !!!

Here's hoping you're not able to find time even THIS Christmas either !!! Wishing you both well !!!

No snow in July!!! Oh no!!! Your work and effort every July has been such a treat. It will be missed in 2013.

Those of us who have shared your efforts have always known a man with such a generous heart would be found by a lady of deserving virtues. That time has come. Wishing you both joy in the sharing of heart - the true center of all this Christmas music thing.

We will be on watch for your return, knowing when you do it will be with a fuller heart. Thanks, upon thanks again and again for all you have already done. Wishing Ernie and Jennifer the Merriest!!!

Best wishes,Ern! At first I was bummed out by this but then last night was wandering thru your past X-Mas in July downloads, and realized that there is several YEARS' worth of great stuff there.

And that does not even take into consideration your December downloads! If the mood strikes you go for it, but if not, no problem!

Hi....
I'm Buddy Burden from the Christmas album you show in your blog. I want you to know that this record was done in 66 or 67... some of it was recorded in Gatlinburg, and some of it was done in a studio in Nashville. I wrote two of the songs... "The Christmas Polka" and "Christmas Card"
Christmas card was done in two versions... one with vocals and one without. These same recordings were used on a number of Christmas records. Some of them had only my music, and some were collections using other artists... one notable artist was Bill Purcell.. a famous pianist who had a hit on "Walk in the Black Forest" I played organ backup on some of his recordings..
I currently live in Boca Raton Florica, and Bunny and I were divorced in 1977. My current wife and I have been married 34 years. Time flies when you're havin fun.

Ernie,
Do you still have the music by the Snap on Male Chorus "carols of Christmas'? The reason I ask is because my Great Grandmother was Marjorie Morrow. She directed the album and has long since passed away. I would love to get ahold of the music but cant seem to find it anywhere for download. Any help you might have is greatly appreciated.
Oh and congrats are your new relationship!!!! Having someone to share your life with is truly a blessing.
