No Snow In July
Hello, and welcome to Christmas in July 2013! Err, actually, welcome to No Christmas in July 2013. Yes, it's sad but true, I won't be sharing any Christmas gems with you all this year. No one is a bigger fan of Christmas music than I am, but some things are just more important, and her name is Jennifer. Yes, that's right, I finally met that special someone that I've been looking for for a long time now, and she's great. So my spare time has been spent working on building a relationship that I hope will span many, many years to come. I'm certainly not going to rule out a future return to Christmas music sharing, and believe me, I still have piles and piles of music that I'd love to bring you, but for now it's on the back burner. Maybe I'll have some goodies come the real holidays at the end of the year, but for now, all I can do is wish you a Merry Christmas in July!
Wonderful news, Ernie! Best to you and Jennifer.
ReplyDeleteI wish you both much happiness.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas in July!

Ernie, you've deserved a July off for many years. Spend every waking moment with Jennifer.
ReplyDeleteYou got to squeeze her, don't tease her, never leave her. You got to hold her, and brother, something else - try a little tenderness!

Hey...enjoy your blessings, there are other July Christmases down the road. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteOff topic but just curious, has anyone ever pointed out that Christmas in July in Australia (and all southern hemisphere lands) is actually seasonally appropriate? So yes, there actually is snow in July ... down under!

Congrats to you both! I appreciate what you have done but more importantly how you have your priorities straight. Christmas music is a lot more fun when you can share it with a loved one. Best of luck to you both!!
ReplyDeleteErnie, that's the best news I've heard on the blogs this year.
ReplyDeleteAll my best wishes and blessings to you and Jennifer - you deserve it.
I wish you both nothing but happiness. If Jennifer brings you 1/100th of the happiness my lovely wife has brought me (coming up to our 25th wedding anniversary this October!), then you will be a very happy man! Keep us posted, many thanks for all the great shares and again...best wishes!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Ernie!
ReplyDeleteGood for you and Jennifer. As a happily married man, i can tell you nothing will bring you more joy than a true love. It's even better than Christmas music and THAT is saying something.
ReplyDeleteAll the best to you both. I will miss your posts, hope to see them resume sometime, but I understand and send you my support.

Allowing real life to get in the way of blogging?? Shocking!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! And, um, stay "real." I have no idea what that means, but I just wanted to give some hip-sounding advice.
Best to both of you!

ReplyDeleteSheesh.
Have a great summer! Looking forward to your blog this Christmas!
ReplyDeleteWord is that some public blogs are being shut down. If this happens to you and you continue on a private basis, please include me! Your Christmas music blog is my favorite music sharing blog.
You can see from the large number of well-wishers how much your music has been appreciated!
ReplyDeleteWe are delighted that global warming finally thawed the snow down there in Florida and allowed you to find the very best of all music finds - someone to be with!

Hi....
ReplyDeleteI'm Buddy Burden from the Christmas album you show in your blog. I want you to know that this record was done in 66 or 67... some of it was recorded in Gatlinburg, and some of it was done in a studio in Nashville. I wrote two of the songs... "The Christmas Polka" and "Christmas Card"
Christmas card was done in two versions... one with vocals and one without. These same recordings were used on a number of Christmas records. Some of them had only my music, and some were collections using other artists... one notable artist was Bill Purcell.. a famous pianist who had a hit on "Walk in the Black Forest" I played organ backup on some of his recordings..
I currently live in Boca Raton Florica, and Bunny and I were divorced in 1977. My current wife and I have been married 34 years. Time flies when you're havin fun.

Hi, Ernie and Jennifer. I see Dali in the background. Wife and I were there in August for the first time to the new Dali. Hope you both liked it.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to both of you!
ReplyDeleteYou will be sorely missed on the Christmas postings. Perhaps Jennifer will indulge you a few moments with we your blog friends leading up to the holidays.
Thanks for all your hard work and all that you have given!
Ernie,
ReplyDeleteDo you still have the music by the Snap on Male Chorus "carols of Christmas'? The reason I ask is because my Great Grandmother was Marjorie Morrow. She directed the album and has long since passed away. I would love to get ahold of the music but cant seem to find it anywhere for download. Any help you might have is greatly appreciated.
Oh and congrats are your new relationship!!!! Having someone to share your life with is truly a blessing.

ReplyDeleteCongtaulations Ernie!! I came looking for my annual Christmas music hit, and found your message instead... I hope everything goes well for you both. But I'll miss those seasonal gems, that's for sure. (Still, you've built up quite an archive to get stuck into...)
