Nevermore

I didn't realize that yesterday was the birthday of Edgar Allan Poe, and the date that an anonymous person used to visit this marker and leave roses and cognac. But now they say he hasn't shown up for three years and the tradition may be over. I visited the site last year when I was in DC for the Cherry Blossom Festival, it's a cool little graveyard, some of which is actually underneath a church. Note that Poe isn't actually buried there, but used to be. I seem to remember he was originally buried in an unmarked grave, but I guess they figured out it was him later on. I'm a little fuzzy on the details, I'm afraid.

  1. I saw this as well. I guess all things come to an end. I'm surprised you didn't blog about Kodak though. They too may be "Nevermore". Caw!

  2. My second or third digital camera, depending on how you wanna count 'em, was a Kodak DC 4800. I'm a little fuzzy on the details at this point, but it was either 1 megapixel or 3, but it was a big deal at the time. I think I'm up to 18 MP now, I don't even know...

  3. Ernie,

I had a Kodak DC 3400. Actually I still have it. It is 2 megapixel. I don't use it anymore of course but it's still in my desk drawer.

I lived in Maryland for 7 years and fly up to visit my family from time to time but I have never visited the grave of Edgar Allen Poe.
