Christmas In July 2023-Part 4

Finally, the holiday du jour is here, though you can't stay out too late and watch the fireworks because you have to get up and go to work tomorrow. Oh well. But you can celebrate with some special new Christmas music. I grabbed four real firecrackers for you today, so it's short but sweet!

1. Red Garter-Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer
2. Barbara E. Leigh & The Everlov'ins-I Saw Mama Kissing Santa Claus (AKA I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Clause)
3. Buddy Tate, His Tenor Sax And Orchestra-Snowy White Christmas
4. George Jones-New Baby For Christmas

If that doesn't get your Christmas spirit hopping, I don't know what will. Give a listen before you start your BBQ and enjoy the cold, snowy feeling.

    1. Thanks, Buster, same to you, though I guess I'm a little late for the holiday. :)

    2. Great George Jones cut from the early days of his career! This song sounds like it is from the Starday/Mercury era, when Pappy Dailey was still calling the shots. Excellent tune, he almost sounds unrecognizable here. I KNOW I never heard this one before!

    3. George Jones had a couple of Christmas singles, none of which sound to me like him, but I grew up with the late 70's-early 80's version of no-show Jones. :)

    4. That was the era of George Jones that I remember best when I was listening to Country radio in the early-'90's. Some of his many Musicor sides from the '60's and early-'70's are actually very good.
