05-Santafly

Day five, moving right along. Hope you're having fun. It may only be one download per day but it's a really good download. Plus it's much easier for me to keep up. Today is a great theme with a whole batch of comedy records. There's plenty of stuff here to laugh at. And I don't know if you've noticed or not, but each batch of records has a celebrity greeting thrown in just to spice things up a bit. And today's greeting is a bit of a funny thing in and of itself. I had to hunt a bit to find something appropriate, but I was pretty happy with what I came up with. I don't own every single ever made, so my selection is somewhat limited in these things, but it was easy to come up with a big batch of funny records. Enjoy! (And RIP to Martin Mull who passed away this past year.)

    1. Took me a few listens to that Jackie Vernon greeting to get the whole joke. 1929...

  3. Ernie,
Thanks for another good folder and BTW, had trouble playing a song, so, unzipped and it worked perfectly. Had some of these, years ago, but good to have them again, digitally. Once again, the PTA one, brought up memories from home and from the same station has Henry. Well, others did, too, but had to specifically bring that one out. Blue Christmas, if memory serves me correctly, was from John Boy and Billy, out of Charlotte in those days, those days being circa 1985, really popular after release. Oh yeah, Chevrolet was a goodun, too. Rambling now, again, thanks, love and prayin' for ya.

    1. Glad you were able to make this download work. Need to take a look at the filename lengths in these things before I share, I guess. New software is always a pain. Blue Christmas was by a comedian, and it does appear he was working with John Boy & Billy at the time. I've seen this songs shared in a million different ways, rarely with the correct attribution.

  4. Nice theme Ernie! My favorites are "Let Me Be Annie for Christmas", and"Ive Got The Chickenpox for Christmas" - I wonder if this is the first time a Christmas song mentions a virus?

    1. Not sure if this was the first. There are a few others out there that I know of, one for the Asian flu and quite a few for Covid. I think this one was a dance record for a class. Not sure if that's an appropriate topic for a dance lesson, but there it is...
