37-Santa You're A Hippy

I really, really, really wanted to create a collection of songs accusing Santa of being a hippy, but they're fewer and farther between than I thought. I've only got a couple in here and I only know of one more that I didn't have on 45 (think Homer & Jethro...). So I had to fill out the rest of the playlist with other Santa songs for what I think is the third Santa collection of the season. He's a popular guy, what can I say. 1. Don't Leave Any Toys Here "Santa" is an interesting title. Is Santa an imposter? I suppose I could listen and find out.

  4. Lots of good ones here! I don't think I have ever heard of that Ames Brothers selection. Amazing that you actually have the Bobby Helms cut here; those originals are hard to find

  5. Apart from the Springboard/Mistletoe reissue of the material 10 years later. SO excited to see my favorite selection from the Ed Sullivan Music of Christmas LP on here, and that it was released on a 45! Another great record to search for! (I just ordered a legit MOD CD of the album and it got shipped on New Years Eve; should arrive in time for Epiphany on Monday.)

  6. I do have my own copy of the Bing "Do You Hear What I Hear" 45, however the title font on my copy is different than the one featured here; Your copy must have been pressed in Scranton, PA. Heard the song on the radio quite a bit this Christmas season.

  7. Also great to see "Mister Santa" on here (which I haven't heard since the mid-2010's when the traditional pop oldies show I listened to based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa switched stations) and a solo selection from former Tommy Dorsey vocalist Lynn Roberts! That should be a fun one to listen to.
