81-Not At All Christmas
Last post for the year, and it's not even Christmas music. But it is an interesting promotional record from Christmas 1946, and it goes really well with the version from 1947 that I shared a few years ago. Not sure of the exact purpose behind this promo, it's pretty esoteric opera music, though I suppose there were collectors out there who were interested in it. Maybe it was given to dealers or something, but I doubt it ever was meant for the public. Who knows? But it has a great label, and it's on red shellac, so it's something interesting. Same as all the other shares this season, it came from The Internet Archive, your source for hundreds of thousands of 78 rips. Thanks again to all my visitors this season, it's been a great one. Hopefully we can do it all again next year, but we'll have to wait and see.
Update-5 Jan 2023-Added a tracklist for searchability.
1. Marcel Journet With Orchestra-Le Châlet-Chanson Militaire
2. Marcel Journet With Orchestra-La Favorita-Anathème De Balthazar
