A Cartoon Christmas 16

Too late in the day to find any cartoons in TV, so I think I'll listen to some records. Here's a classic single from The Turtles. Sorta sounds familiar, I know I recognize those voices. Sure enough, looks like the main guys behind The Turtles, Flo & Eddie, are the same guys behind this Christmas record from The Care Bears, another set of characters owned and commercialized by American Greetings. I'm not going to speak ill of this one too much because it's actually kind of good, probably due to the involvement of Flo and Eddie (they were also members of Frank Zappa's Mothers Of Invention for a while, so these guys have some bona fides). You'll see what I'm talking about if you download and listen to The Care Bears-A Care Bears Christmas (Kid Stuff/American Greetings KS 5040, Stereo, 1983). Enjoy!

    Hi Ernie,
    Thanks for all these stories with or without songs. I have heard of some of these cartoons from either the Internet, TV, and or DVD. I love Scooby Doo. I will add one LP per day beginning Dec. 1. for my listening pleasure.
    I have put them in a special stories folder for easy reference.

      Yeah, some of them are stories, some of them are songs, and some are a little bit of each. They are all very much a product of their time...

      Apparently they did a lot of music for The Care Bears. Might not be the sort of thing they're proud of.
