Let's Go Bowling

I was about to write up this post talking about how I've got this Christmas record from Kentucky for you, then I thought maybe I should look and see where Bowling Green University is. I thought it was in Bowling Green, Kentucky, but I was mistaken. Turns out it is in Bowling Green, Ohio. We've listened to quite a few records from Ohio this season, I'm not even going to bother to link to any of them. And we've heard from quite a few small liberal arts colleges, too. Only thing we're missing here is some link to the Lutherans, but I don't see anything that ties them to any one religion. Oh well, can't have everything. I will give it a few extra points for the familiar stock cover. Let me see if I can find another album to link to that has this same cover image. (It's hard to search for images based on the cover art. Can I do that through Google image search at my own blog? Hmmm, I need to figure that out.) Here's a similar cover on an LP I shared out about a month and a half ago (also from Ohio; surprise, surprise) but I'm sure there are more around here somewhere. This is Bowling Green State University Collegiate Chorale-Bowling Green State University Collegiate Chorale (Quadraphenomena STD-1011/2568, Stereo). Great label name on this one, Quadraphenomena!

  1. Bowling Green is in northwest Ohio, about an hour and a half from where I live.

    1. I went to a public talk last night from famed football coach Urban Meyer, and he talked about an early coaching job he had at Bowling Green State University. Funny how these things are all connected. :)

  2. Back (way back) in 2010 you posted Hal Greene-Christmas ExtraORGANary. Same cover. Save you the trouble...

    1. Thanks Raven176 for mentioning this album. I was not a visitor way back then, and not even in 2018 when Ernie re-shared this album.
But an Organ album cannot be all that bad. A Piano album is a different story. I hate those that pound on the keys...
Anyway, I went and downloaded the 2018 re-share.

    2. Funny you should point that out, I stumbled across that LP two night ago in the stacks and didn't connect it back to this one. These covers get all mixed up in my head.

  3. I Love how your built in magnet finds all these albums, Ernie. Again, you are amazing :)

    1. They seem to be attracted to me. They're the magnets, I'm just a hunk of iron...

  4. Ernie, this has to be one of the best of this type of shares. Plus, there were many songs that were in copyright, compared to those that were out of copyright.
A really, really good listen from beginning to end.

    1. Looks to me like most of this LP is public domain titles. You're still talking about the other one, on the WAM label.

  5. Once again, I want to thank Raven176, for mentioning this album. It ranks near the top on my list of Organ albums. A real winner.

    1. Oh, you're still talking about that other LP with this cover. I was confused...

  6. Sorry, wrong share. It gets confusing when trying to locate a share when they have similar if not the same artwork.
