Tiny Dancer

I feel like today is the day where I break the record for longest Christmas season. I've really drug it out this year but you've got to strike while the iron is hot. I've got all these records ripped and mostly ready to go, so I may as well post them. I'm not sure if I've broken a record for the most days total since Thanksgiving was so late last year, but I'm too lazy to go back and count. Suffice it to say, we're in uncharted territory here.  And in the interest of really dragging it out, here's another record you likely don't need. This is Lynn Stanford-Christmas Music For Ballet Class Volume Two (Bodarc BOD 89-15, Stereo, 1989). This is volume two, and yes I have volume one somewhere. I appear to have recorded it a few years ago, but never scanned the artwork for it. Hopefully I'll come across the record sometime soon and I'll be able to finish up the package.

1. Plie: Away In A Manger
2. Tendu: Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
3. Degage: Masters In This Hall
4. Rond De Jambe A Terre: Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
5. Frappe: Jolly Old Saint Nicholas
6. Fondu: I Saw Three Ships
7. Rond De Jambe En L'Air: I Wonder As I Wander
8. Developpe: O Come, O Come, Emmanuel
9. Petite Battement: Here We Come A - Wassailing
10. Grand Battement: Oh Christmas Tree
11. Stretch: O Holy Night
12. Tendu: Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree
13. Slow Pirouette: Blue Christmas
14. Waltz Pirouette: I Heard The Bells On Christmas Day
15. Adagio: Ave Maria
16. Allegro: French Christmas Carol
17. Pique: Do You Hear What I Hear?
18. Grand Allegro: Good Christian Men, Rejoice
19. Reverence: Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire

  1. Well Ernie, this sounds like a winner. While I only sampled two tracks, this albums sounds great for...
    1. I need a nice album to go to sleep by...
    or...
    2. To listen to after a stressful day, unwinding on the public transportation systems.

I have a 60 minute + or - travel journey once or twice a week. Albums like this and instrumentals, always fill that situation.

    1. This sort of thing may put you to sleep and then you'll miss your station. Best be careful.

    2. I have missed my station being wide awake, or because I have gotten on the wrong train.
It is terrible sometimes to be short on common sense.

    3. I'm sure it happens to everyone once in a while...

    4. Well Ernie...bring on Volume I.
At last, someone who does not pound the piano keys, oy vey.
I really enjoyed this one, maybe an 8.
I did not fall asleep, but actully finished listening to it while organizing, that is rare for me...

  2. Wow, Ernie! You have blown my mind this year. Astounding. And like so many you've shared, I've never seen this one before! Thank you so much!

    1. I like to think that different areas have different Christmas music. Not that I see this one very much, but I suspect if I lived up north, I'd have a very different selection of Christmas records. I need to find and finish volume one, I wonder where I might have put that...

  3. At this point, you might as well keep going until Christmas in July!

    1. I believe in 2022, Christmas 78s were every week. I think there were 53 weeks worth.

    2. The thought had crossed my mind, but that's a long way to go and I'm rapidly losing interest. Takes time to sit down and process these rips I've already got in the can. Probably not going to happen.

And yes, I did it every week in 2022, but I wasn't having to rip anything. And I was super excited about finding and listening to all those 78s. Those were great times!

  4. Again, I say, "Thank you, Ernie" :)
    You are so amazing!

    1. So, are you saying that this is the end of Christmas 2025?

    2. This is not the end, but the end is nigh. I'm having more and more trouble motivating myself to do the work for yet another new share. I've still got some in the can though, so we're still good for this week. :)

    3. Thanks, Ernie. Well, February 17th is Chinese New Years... which is also Shrove Tuesday... which means I probably need to stop listening to Christmas Music, put away our Christmas Decorations, etc ;)

    4. Well, you can always listen to Christmas music in secret. I'm still playing it in my office and in the car. And I'm recording records for next year as well, so it never really ends for me. :)
