Nice one! Larry Ferrari was a staple in the Philly region for decades. I still remember his "Larry Ferrari Show" Sunday mornings on ABC channel 6 in the 80s and 90s. He also was the organist for the Philly region kids show "Captain Noah". Thanks for sharing this!
ReplyDeleteI was pretty excited to be able to upgrade that old share. :)
DeleteI was going to say pretty much everything Steve in PA did. I moved to the outskirts of Philly in 1974 and remember stumbling upon Larry's show on Sunday mornings. Even as a kid - or maybe especially as a kid - I couldn't believe there was such a program on TV.
DeleteIt's amazing such a program lasted that long. Inertia is a powerful thing. I remember the farm report on early morning TV as a kid, with plenty of spots for live old-time country playing and singing by Ernie Lee. Good times.
DeleteI'm no fan of pop organ records, but I do have a soft spot for theater organs. Larry is right up to date with his repertoire, including "We All Need a Little Christmas."
ReplyDeleteIt's best in small doses. :)
