2022 At 78 RPM-Part 18

Another uneventful week here as far as special occasions go. I certainly didn't think I'd make it to eighteen weeks, but here we are. In fact, I've still got more in the pile to be shared than I started the year out with. Each month brings a big dump of new records to The Internet Archive and their Great 78 Project. In fact, this month was probably the best yet for new content, well over 100 Christmas songs added to the pile. I'm still working on getting them all sorted out and cleaned up for you, so they'll probably start to trickle into the new shares in the next week or so. Unfortunately, there have been some quality problems with new rips at the archive, but I've spoken to them and they're going to take a look at it. About 20% of the new shares start the recording after the music has already begun, you can actually hear the turntable coming to speed with the music already playing. And then some of the versions cut off before the song ends! I suspect it's just a new person at the controls and little oversight. But I've been able to splice multiple versions together to get a good one, it just takes time. Last month they had an issue with their imaging causing many of the label photos to be overexposed and washed out. I was able to fix most of them, but you've probably noticed a few images that didn't look their usual best. But these things happen when you're processing thousands of records I month and I'm sure they'll get it straightened out. 2022 At 78 RPM-Part 17

Nothing too memorable about part 17 of anything, I'm afraid. Just another week of great Christmas music towards my goal of 52 weeks. I think we're making good progress. The Internet Archive is a pretty deep well of music, and they just keep adding to it. The recently dropped pile for April was almost as good as last months big dump, so I've got plenty to keep me going for a while. I hope you're all still enjoying the music. I'm hoping to get through my weekend this time without so much drama as last week, but you never know. Wish me luck. Hey gang! I'm back! Only missed a day or so due to some iffy health issues, but I'm all clear and back on the case. Now I can post the stuff I had almost ready to go for Saturday. Hardly seems like the thing I should be doing first thing after getting out of the hospital, but it's been on my mind ever since I went in. Christmas Is Postponed

Gonna be a delay in getting the Christmas music up for this week. I've been dealing with some bad constipation for a couple days, and this morning that led me to some worrying symptoms. I'm at the ER getting check out, and they just told me it'll be an overnight stay at the least for observation. I had twenty new tracks uploaded for you already, but it's not close enough to being a post that I can finish it from my phone. Maybe tomorrow. Don't worry about me, I'll be just fine. :)
