The actor passed away ear...Nope, not the same guy. The actor passed away earlier this year, the singer passed away back in '85. I made my SW jokes back when I first posted this years ago.Erniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02589056878160272070noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11600065.post-83825822275864965192016-12-12T09:48:39.296-05:002016-12-12T09:48:39.296-05:00Hi Ernie,

Enjoyed listening to this album, especially the song "White Christmas", which includes the additional lyrics mentioning Los Angeles and Beverly Hills which are added to the beginning of the second stanza instead of at the beginning of the song. My wife said she's heard the lyrics presented in this order before, but I don't. It's hard to image Los Angeles back in those days much less Christmas music being so popular that it repeatedly topped the charts as White Christmas did.

Kenny Baker's album should be added to the list below.

This is from Wikipedia:
Original verse:
Irving Berlin's opening verse is often dropped in recordings, but is included on A Christmas Gift for You from Philles Records, sung by Darlene Love, on Barbra Streisand's A Christmas Album, on the Carpenters' Christmas Portrait sung by Karen Carpenter, on Bette Midler's Cool Yule, on Libera's Christmas Album and on Crash Test Dummies' Jingle All the Way.[7]

The sun is shining, the grass is green,
The orange and palm trees sway.
There's never been such a day
in Beverly Hills, L.A.
But it's December the twenty-fourth,—
And I am longing to be up North—[18]Steve Turnerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06287034581115485292noreply@blogger.com
