It's amazing how none of those guitars go flying out of the sled....then again, there are quite a few less than 50 pictured...
ReplyDeleteI also didn't know there were "50 Guitars" records not helmed by Tommy "Snuff" Garrett.
DeleteThey started out with 50. And it's a deliberately misleading title. :(
DeleteHope you make your connection!
ReplyDeleteNope, we missed it. Just now arriving three hours late. But we're here, that's all that matters.
DeleteRecently had an experience like that, via bus. Originally, got to Louisville, to see my bus pull out, which didn't even stop BTW (reckon because I wasn't there to check in), subsequently arrived way too late in Atlanta to make my original connection, so got stuck there for like nine hours. I got to my final destination almost twelve hours later than I wanted. The day wasn't totally wasted though. The LORD allowed me to meet/talk with folk I wouldn't have gotten to, otherwise, so He had a purpose in it all. Glad y'all are there, safe and sound, love and praying for y'all.

I would have been pretty miserable if I'd had to wait that long. Plenty of other things went wrong today as well, but I won't bore you with the gory details. Suffice it to say it was a rough day.
DeleteTo the record at hand: The record company spent so much money on the last two non-seasonal 50 Guitars albums at Musicor. When they put together this album, they used the instrumental backing tracks from Bobby Helms' Little Darlin' Jingle Bell Rock album (which Mistletoe reissued in the '70's and Holiday in the early-'80's) and the Midnight String Quartet's Christmas Rhapsodies for Young Lovers albums and had the guitarists overdub their parts to these pre-recorded tracks. Budget label operations at their finest!
ReplyDeleteReally? I didn't know that!
DeleteYou learned something new this season!
ReplyDeleteI learn too much stuff each season to be able to remember it the next... :(
