I have been following your blog for well over 10 years now, and every year, you amaze with the tunes, and the vast quantity of them you share with us. We can never thank you enough, in my humble opinion. Know you are appreciated and, again, thank you for all you do. I also look forward to reading your comments during Rob Martinez's annual Christmas In July show. Merry Christmas, and here's hoping 2021 gets back to some semblance of normalcy! My (lame) excuse is that I'm often downloading the new music and immediately popping it into a mix with all other sorts of recently added Xmas tunes, listening to them all on random shuffle as the day wears on. As I'm hearing them individually, I'm most often not specifically aware of which tune came from where. (I add music each year from a variety of sources; the library, (like yourself) newly acquired CDs or albums, and of course the blogosphere. In any event, please know that your diligent efforts and kind sharing are received with deep appreciation, proper respect for the work involved, and a sincere wish for a safe and happy Xmas season in days ahead. ...Thanks so much for the comments and high praise!

The Internet Archive is a place that rewards your searching. I find a lot of stuff almost by accident. And neat stuff sometimes pops up in the 'Similar' bar at the bottom of the pages. You can get lost for hours, it's a deep rabbit hole. :)

And I wouldn't do all the work for these shares if I didn't love 'em! I've bought CDr's from companies promising 100's of songs from 78, only to get a pile of poor rips stolen from internet sites, including things that never came out on 78, and completely missing any tags with poor filenames. I'm determined not to do something like that. :)

Merry Christmas!!Erniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02589056878160272070noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11600065.post-79573628041510690592020-12-18T18:17:35.828-05:002020-12-18T18:17:35.828-05:00I don't know if people understand how much wor...I don't know if people understand how much work you must put into these recordings, this is not just you grabbing and reposting but listening for just good music, then the clean up - wow, I have other copies I've grabbed someplace else and every time I compare your files with what I have I immediately delete the other and keep yours - and let's talk for just a moment about the care you put into ensuring the information is correct - well done kind sir and a real treat for us all! Working through it all will give me my Christmas music fix during the new year.

I do really like the Chet Baker Winter Wonderland. I had a live version of it on CD but I like the studio recording better. Also the various cha-chas and mambos are a lot of fun.

Thanks again and Merry Christmas!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
