I am sad that it does not include "Fowl Owl on the Prowl," but that does not sound seasonal in any case.Busterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08918896767504950096noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11600065.post-85351214192500036362018-12-13T07:53:35.657-05:002018-12-13T07:53:35.657-05:00I think the Sing Along version came first. This is one of those records that interests me for the cover mostly. The stuff inside is just incidental. :)Erniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02589056878160272070noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11600065.post-18468129525472645482018-12-13T05:56:12.274-05:002018-12-13T05:56:12.274-05:00you want to know more about this record? you can ...you want to know more about this record? you can ask your friend lee. (but we might end up with dueling musicologists with big 10-inch pistols at 20 paces.) i donât know who posted the music first or even who recorded it first. but i do know this: your âswing along with santaâs snowmenâ (craftsmen c 8040) and leeâs âsing along with santaâs helpersâ (tops L1700) posted three days ago are the same record!! well, almost the same. the helpers sing two addition tunes: tormeâs âthe christmas songâ and something called âthe animalsâ christmas songâ⌠a fair effort (as these things go) which was included in some of those âlounge christmas collectionsâ that circulated a few years ago. in fact, it was fair enough to inspire me to track down the composers: the married team of marilyn keith and alan bergman, and lew spence. these three also wrote ânice N easyâ for frank sinatra. keith and bergman went on to a long and successful music career mostly as lyricists, the highlights of which include âyellow birdâ, âthe windmills of your mindâ, âthe way we wereâ, and the never-to-be-forgotten âfoul owl on the prowlâ from âin the heat of the nightâ.barbahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01614152954364501680noreply@blogger.com
