I normally leave the last post of the season up until Christmas in July begins, but I wanted to do something slightly different this year and leave you with some pictures of what's coming. Stay tuned and you'll get a chance to see what all these records have in common. The records above seem to be chosen at random, and the ones below appear to be Christmas records, but nothing here is what it seems. Stay tuned for Christmas in July!
Thanks for all your incredible work, Ernie - I really don't know how you do it, but I'm very grateful that you do. Some of these album sleeve tasters look interesting - like the one with four kangaroos, and the OTT Swiss sleeve, for example...
ReplyDeleteThere's always something good to be found if you dig deep enough! Stay tuned...
DeleteNice collage! Looking forward to the contents!
ReplyDeleteCheap advertising. :)
DeleteThat reminds me, there's one in there I need to record for you. It's the 12" version of a 10" you shared on your blog long ago. Adds a few songs of unknown provenance.

Sounds good!
DeleteThank you! A great year - Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the note! Merry Christmas to you!
DeleteI was wondering when this season was ever going to end! You shared so many albums over the last four months, you more than made up for the lack of posts you shared during the 2024 season, when you only shared 45s. You have got so much Seasonal gems here that it will give me the time to catch up "Till the Season Comes Round Again" to quote Amy Grant. Catch you in the quotes on Buster's blog. Great collage!
ReplyDeleteI don't view 2024 as having a lack of posts. Took an awful long time to record all those 45s. I think that was one of the best years I've had! Loved the variety and volume of those things.
DeleteNever saw that alternate cover art for Eydie Gorme's Love Is a Season till now! I am more familiar with the two images of Eydie, which is the one that I have in my collection on LP and CD. Lots of good ones to wait for! looking forward to listening to Gene Bianco, Ann Richards, and Eddie Layton in July!
ReplyDeleteI picked up the Eydie because I thought the cover was different even though it's a mono copy. And that song is one of my favorite ever finds for Christmas in July so it's worth a revisit.
DeleteAlso looking forward to checking out Claude Thornhill, Gene Bianco, Ahmad Jamal, and the Airmen of Note come July as well.
DeleteI was excited to find that Airmen of Note. Not sure about the Christmas content, but still a nice catch.
DeleteOh my, a mystery of album covers :) I will try to figure it out :)
ReplyDeleteI didn't make them _that_ small, I don't think they'll be too hard to ID. :) But you'll have to wait until July to listen to many of them, I doubt if they're available in the usual spots...
DeleteEnjoy the hiatus!
ReplyDeleteOh, I already am! :)
DeletePOLKA,HARPS AND ALPHORNS!?!?!? Come on July, I can't wait!!! -Organ
ReplyDeleteWe pride ourselves on diversity around here. :)
DeleteNo need to respond, Ernie. Just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate your blog. Thank you for ALL you do! I'm looking forward to Christmas in July!
ReplyDeleteI always try to say some little something to acknowledge the time people took to leave a comment. :) Thanks for stopping by and leaving one.
DeleteDear Ernie, many thanks for your kind work here and always keeping the christmas candle burning. Have a nice springtime :)
ReplyDeleteBest wishes from Germany
Fritz
