I miss the good old Saturdays when I could inundate you with posts, sharing something every hour all day long, usually with some theme tying everything together. But I've long since exhausted my pile of records to share and I'm dripping and drabbing them out one at a time for the past month or two. Keep in mind that what takes a month to share out now is what I shared every five days for the entire Christmas season, and even quicker if there was a Saturday in the mix. But I'm very happy to still be able to share these things with you here as we get close to the end of February. I think this Christmas music makes it a little easier to keep Christmas in your heart. And as Bing, Ella and others have said before, the secret of Christmas is the Christmas things you do all year. (And no, I will not be doing this all year. Even I have limits.) That's a long boring way to introduce today's share about which I know next to nothing. It's another of the many religious shares I've brought you this season, though this time it appears to be a husband and wife team. Duets are always a welcome treat, it's like getting the best of both worlds, male and female vocals combined. I'm sure you'll enjoy this whole package. This is
Phil And Marlene Dunaway-
The Beauty Of Christmas (Spectrum Records LPS-2818, Stereo). Enjoy!

Thanks Ernie. They varied the song selections from the usual. That's always welcome.
ReplyDeleteWith a cover of an Eddy Arnold song thrown in at the end, I think that's a nice touch.
DeleteHere's a bit of info on them; unfortunately, it's Marlene's obituary:

Yeah, that seems to be the only mention you can find of some of these artists out on the 'net. :(
DeleteThis looks like an interesting share, I will find out later.
ReplyDeleteBut, I was looking and opening up various Christmas blog folders from the years 2022 - 2024 to see if I could find those missing 2023 shares of yours.
So, I had only 12 of your shares in your 2023 folder.
Guess what, I found another 202 shares from you in a second 2022 folder of yours. Wow, you were really busy in 2022. All these album shares and all those 78 shares.
Anyways, I combined the 2023 and that second 2022 folder of yours and renamed it 2023.
Whoa, I knew I had more than those 12 shares.
Sometimes, I put shares into special theme folders, so they no longer stay in the yearly folder. So, my counts are a bit lower.
I try to share a little Christmas music now and then. :)
DeleteWell Ernie,
ReplyDeleteI had to stop at the present time listing to this share.
Evangelists are just not my thing. I just have a negative feeling for them.
Besides, this collection features one of my least favorite songs, C-H-R-I-S-T-M-A-S.
Thank goodness I/we never had perform this.
I've thought occasionally about collecting different versions of same idea, where they come up with different words for the letters in Christmas. There are quite a few versions out there.

ReplyDeleteSounds about right, but where did you dig up a date?
