I'm sure they considered Michael Learned a good get at the time. "The Waltons" was a hit show.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't a big Waltons fan so I didn't know the name. There was a Walton's Christmas album, but it was elevator music with a little narration. Pretty boring.
DeleteThe Waltons killed the Flip Wilson show; he was fairly popular, too.
DeleteI wanna hear a Flip Wilson Christmas song!
DeleteMe too!
DeleteI love when Christmas albums collide with history.
ReplyDeleteCollide is such a strong word...
DeleteThis album came out before my birth year Ernie. While it was very nice, I will give it maybe a 7 out of 10. It lost a point because they were probably paying Miss Learned by the word. Okay, she might have done it for free, but if you took a toilet break or sneezed, you missed what she said. What a waste. Goodnight John-Boy, Goodnight...thank goodness. And people really watched this show for 9 seasons? Sorry for being mean.
ReplyDeleteThat being said, Northridge was some miles from where I grew up. 1994 Northridge earthquake scared the blank out of me. Even though it lasted only seconds, your body felt it for hours and days afterwards. Would there another? And the aftershocks...
Was that the earthquake that happened just before a World Series game? I remember seeing lots of coverage of that one on TV when it happened.
DeleteThat one was in San Francisco. I was watching when it happened.
DeleteOh, then I don't remember the Northridge quake then.
