Nice thread today Ernie- KVIL Christmas continued on record/cd until 1998, when they did a greatest hits compilation of all their previous years
ReplyDeleteDid they really? Do you have links? I couldn't find much.
DeleteHere is there '96 album, with an artist who went on to great fame and Grammys:

Interesting material! Looking forward to the other entries.
ReplyDeleteIt's got a very specific sound. You might like it, you might hate it.
DeleteWhat a great find! My family had a cassette version of this album that we got somewhere around 1987-88. It only had the KVIL Choraleers tracks, but might have had a few more.
ReplyDeleteI’ve always been fascinated by these many-layered barbershop harmony jingles from that era because I grew up with this album. Thank you for posting this, it deserves to be preserved.
I think that's the original record, portions of which were used by stations all over the nation beginning the year after this one came out. I don't think they ever re-used this cover because it seems to be Dallas-centric. Glad I was able to unlock a memory for you!
