You would think that "Fredrico" would choose a different alias on the new label.
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing it wasn't up to him, but who knows...
DeleteHappy New Year Ernie! Thank you for sharing this. Although not a favorite musically in my personal Christmas record collection, I have always loved this record because of the cover art, from famous illustrator Tracy Sugarman. In the 1960s he made important illustrations of the Civil Rights movement in th American south, especially 1964 in Mississippi. He also wrote multiple memoirs of this time in America. His many Grand Awards album covers are nice works from that time in his career.
ReplyDeleteI'd have to see his other works. I'm not the biggest fan of his album covers. Not the greatest fine art...
DeleteHi Ernie,
ReplyDeleteI still like to think Dick Hyman was behind all these recordings. Lew White, while a real person, but he had died earlier in year when this album was released? Of course, that is not saying much, as aliases are used all the time.
When David L. Miller sold Somerset to Al Sherman in 1965, David continued releasing 101 Strings material, old and new, under various other aliases.
What is the phrase/idiom , you have got to milk it until the cow runs dry.
Well, an orchestra name is one thing, but a real person is another, even if recently deceased. Lots of questions here.
