Christmas For Children

I know I've stated on more than one occasion that I don't like plain old choral albums. But this is one I like. Why? I don't know exactly. It's pretty well recorded, so you aren't listening to a muddy mixture of voices and noise. It's not all the same old carols, either. There's stuff I've never heard before like I Wish I Had A Beard Like Santa Claus and I'll Borrow A Stocking From Mrs. Elephant. I love to hear Christmas songs that I haven't heard before. So I think you'll enjoy this album more than most. Please be my guest and download The Shepherd's Children's Chorus-I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus (RCA Camden CAS-1126, 1971).

  3. I can't believe it! I adored these songs at Christmas and was heart-broken when I no longer had the album. I sang them to my son when he was a baby and now he can hear them. THANK YOU! You have brought back everything wonderful I remember about Christmas time!

  4. Now Christmas will be complete! I grew up listening to these songs and have sung them to my own children, but the album is so much better than my singing! My Mom and my siblings are going to freak out when they hear this!! I can tell you we will be listening to Christmas carols earlier this year, well starting NOW!!! Thank you so much!!

  5. Ditto to all the above comments. I, too, grew up listening to this along with all my siblings. Since the LP finaly died years ago, we have been trying to find it (without succes, until now). We've done our best to pass the songs on to our kids by singing them. I am SOOOO excited to finally have this again! I am surprising my Mom with a copy for Christmas, which will be a moment to treasure. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

  6. I honestly thought I was going to cry when I found your link for this music! My sister and I have schemed for years to try and find a way to convert our old, scratched, static-y lp to cd for my mother who raised us on this music. You are an angel! Thank you, thank you, thank you! This will be such a special Christmas present for the both of them this year!

  7. Well, my comments are a lot like the others. Thank you so much for sharing this album. It brings back a lot of childhood memories. I've been looking for "I'll Borrow a Stocking"... for a while. One of my favorites growing up. Even seeing the album cover brought tears to my eyes. Thank you so much!

  8. thank you, thank you, thank you!!! we have been looking for this everywhere. my siblings and i wore out this record when we were little. my husband, who has DJ equipment, has been trying to record it from that old LP, but it was very worn an used. he tried to clean up the pops and snaps, but wasn't able to get them all. while his recording sounds like it did when we were younger (because of the snaps and pops), i like this clean version you have. i will be directing my siblings to your blog and making them a copy as well. again, thank you!!!

  9. Can someone please tell me how I can download these songs. I grew up with this album and it is the only link I can find on the web. When I try the link above, it takes me to a foreign site where i need to be a member. I HAVE to have these songs!

  10. THANK YOU! I love these songs from my childhood. What a great surprise to find them. The album is long gone, but I know every word to each song and am thrilled to have the music to share with my family.

  11. is this the only place online to download the album? did anyone else have any problems downloading and then canceling the credit card payments?

  12. Credit Card payments? You should be able to download it for free. At lix.in, you type in the code, then it takes you to RapidShare.com. From there, choose the free option and wait the timeout period. If you've had to enter any credit card information, I'm thinking you did something unnecessary. You could get a paid account at RapidShare, but that's unnecessary if you aren't downloading a bunch of stuff.

  22. I had this record as a kid, I've found a couple of the tracks online, Wow...talk about bringing back memories! It's unfortunate that I can only find the LP online, which doesn't do much good if you don't have equipment to play it :( So sad that the download links aren't working any more. If anyone knows where you can purchase this for download, I'd love to know !

  23. I bought this record for my kids in 1972 when they were 1 and 3 and they grew up listening to it, and now my Grandkids are as well. It is absolutely wonderful. I have two vinyls but was able to order a CD from a website called "Christmas LPs to CD". I am now working to document the lyrics to all the songs, but am having a hard time finding some of them. Can't find "Snow Bells", "I wish I had a Beard Like Santa Claus", Elfie the Elfe, I'll Borrow A Stocking from Mrs. Elephant, On the Santa Claus Express, and Ten Little Choir Boys. Can anyone help??
    Thank you
